In other words, they're slashing the part of the government that makes sure our foods aren't made entirely of pesticides and lead, and calling it a "streamlining" and "a boost to efficiency".

I understand where you're coming from, but centralizing operations is necessary to reduce the bureaucratic nightmare that is the current FDA.
