If a little snow is quite enough, thanks, you can forget about it for a while and watch rollerblading demonstrations on a half pipe, or do it yourself. All equipment, including children's sizes, will be lent.

>For the more passive, there will be a ski-tricks trampoline show, an ice sculptor chipping ice into art, and a ski-clothes fashion show. You may make a mental note that the hot colors for clothes this year are plum, teal and navy, and that the hot fabric is Thermoloft. And the hot styles? Zip-out vests, reversible outfits and -- the most necessary of all -- long johns.

I did.

It was a bit weak on the snow considering all we needed to do was wait a few weeks for the real thing.

I vaguely remember going there baked and laughing all day.

It was more slush and ice than anything that could be considered snow-like.
