Man... 2bros and all the lookalike pop-ups... One of the most obnoxious food trends to hit the city in the mid 00s. Hopefully this never returns.
Pizza was never meant to be a dollar. You went to a place cause the slices were good. Most neighborhoods lost all quality slice joints due to this cancerous business model, akin to the McDonald's of pizza. Def not rest in peace. Good riddance.

Exactly. Actual pizza places are barely getting by with $3-$4 slices, and you think these K-Mart clearance $1 pizzas have found some amazing secret to their prices?
They were selling you greasy pizza-flavored cardboard and convinced you that you were getting a good deal. No self-respecting New Yorker would pay $1 for that garbage.

Its just volume. Constant line of people. The slices don't even get a chance to cool down enough to need reheating before the pie is gone and the next comes out. No they are not using mozzarella made in-house from milk that's hand squeezed out of a cows tit in the backyard... but plenty of the dollar joints are fine for what they are.

What they are is trash. No room for debate.
