two things:

  1. i don't think you've ever used a leaf blower

  2. raking leaves off a city sidewalk is not an effective use of your time

Agreed. I was a custodian at a pre-school when I was younger, and if I had to rake the parking lot it would take me around 2 hours. Using a leaf blower it took about half an hour.

Not to mention plastic or even metal rake against concrete/stone doesn’t do wonders for the tool’s longevity

plus OP thinks the sound of scraping metal on a sidewalk for 2 hours is preferable to a blower for maybe 20 minutes. Its out of touch with reality

Like a leaf blower doesn't require maintenance...

Of course it does, but it’s not destroying it every time you use it

Yea but that’s maybe once every year or two, you’ll go through a rake a month if you’re using it on concrete.

For real. There's a lot of idealization about having a sidewalk or yard completely clean in a way that only leaf blowers can do. When in reality a once over with a rake is completely sufficient unless you're hosting a royal wedding or something.
