Person of interest in Hell's Kitchen gay bar vandalism taken into custody
Assuming another non bail eligible offense?
Edit: I guess the downvoters are okay with potential hate crimes being ignored, cool.

The attention got to the DA office. His court arraignment finally updated and he was held 50k Bond/5k Cash bail. Top charge is for felony criminal mischief. DA office keeping somebody in custody when the top charge is a property crime is far from the norm in regards to DA offices.
For comparison, on his misdemeanor menacing arrest from 2021 where he menace somebody with a knife he was released under supervision.

Pretrial detention isn’t punishment for a crime considering people are innocent until proven guilty. No one is ignoring hate crimes if a person isn’t held pretrial.

Right it’s to keep obviously dangerous people away from the public
“Kuilan was arrested by the department’s warrant squad, and was also sought on a warrant in a menacing case from Sept. 2, 2021, the chief said.
Sources said he pulled a knife on the victim in that case and threatened, “Are you okay with dying?” “
