what kind of mental gymnastics is this?? “Cops are bastards so do as the bastards do??” Wtf is wrong with you? I hope if you’re ever in need of help someone stops and helps you whether that means they could get hurt in the process. It’s called being a decent human being and this city is in desperate need of a few.

I'm responding to the prosecutor's comments. They shouldn't be describing this as "inexplicable" when they know damn well that even the police are under no obligation to assist someone in distress.

Let me explain the inexplicable, the bystander didn’t want to put himself in harms way for someone they didn’t know which is reasonable.

While I’d like to believe I’d be the guy to go in and be a hero in real life from behind my keyboard, I know in real life my actions might be more selfish.

Last week I read a news story about a 17 year old kid in coney Island who was stabbed to death by a random group of teens when he tried to stop them from attacking a girl on the street. A few days after that it made the news that a fox news anchor was beaten unconscious on the train when he tried to stop a group of people from harassing an old man. I get it, but when you stand up for someone no ones going to stand up for you.
