Except it has a recent and common meaning of an “involuntary celibate”. In other words, a sexual(as opposed to asexual) individual who has deemed themselves celibate, not by choice, but due to an inability to obtain sexual partners. It further connotes a general attitude that this is the fault of society/the opposite sex or desired partners and nothing to do with the incel’s inability to adapt their habits/appearance/behavior to be more appealing.
