This source isn’t unbiased.

Why should public servants, who already have a guaranteed annuity, be entitled to superior healthcare than the rest of Americans. Medicare exists - there’s no reason retired public union members should have Cadillac all expenses paid healthcare plans

They shouldn't have better healthcare than others. everyone needs high-quality healthcare. But drawing the line here is part of the fight to get that basic social right that every working person deserves.

Difference is that when you’re Union in NYC the city can only do this in collective bargaining. The city did not do this, rather they just announced that all retirees would be going into Medicare part C

Hey! Someone that gets it.

I worked public sector for 35 years. When I began my career my friends pitied me because my pay was so low. During the go-go days of the 90's when my friends were all making 3 times what I was I had to wonder about my choice to be a public servant. I stayed at it and now because of republicans destroying our economy I am envied because of my retirement. I didnt spend over three decades kneeling in piss soaked carpets to help old people to now be told Im somehow greedy. The OP is out of touch

The teachers union made a deal that was good for them and not good for many other unions. Adams attempt to force Medicare Advantage on retirees has failed so far! This is not over but the unjust attempt has met resistance from most retired City workers
