Then people would probably be confused because it doesn't offer the same services. Short term rentals are not a new concept, don't get the pushback.

Lots of international guests come through that makes it logical for Chinatown for short-term rentals

Different concepts altogether.

Stuff like this has been common on the West Coast for a while; everything except your bathroom and bedroom is shared. They aren't really meant for people to live in them full time; they are meant for people to purchase them and rent them out on Airbnb.
So yeah, it's a hotel.

Individuals will not purchase these units. The company that owns the building rents them out. It's targeted at temporarily relocated or visiting corporate workers.

Pretty inoffensive design, nothing amazing just bland.
Shame it will completely destroy Chinatown, as we all know any development in or around Chinatown is bad since it will ruin it like DC. /s

I like some decorative aspects of the design. Mainly the decorative cladding and the open concept 1st floor, but it’s not an overall exciting project. I realize not every building needs to make a statement or be my idea of a good use.

It looks like a steamer basket, which is pretty cool.

The design isn't too bad looking, although I would prefer that the 'towers' were symmetrical rather than two on one side and four on the other, but I'm weird like that. I'm not very enamored of the use of the building, but so it goes.
