Just know if you paint the brick you're going to have to treat it with Drylock.

If you just paint over it it'll bubble and chip in a year or two because the minerals in the brick will seep out

Maybe try muriatic acid. Sometimes it cleans/brings new life to stone/concrete, so maybe it'll help yer bricks

It depends on what style you’re going for, but I absolutely love a lime-washed (or white-washed) brick! If done right, I think it adds a lovely patina while still honoring the texture of the brick.

Use Mineral paint . I am a historic restoration mason . Like mentioned regular paint is not good for brick and a lot of the work I do is reversing the damage of pain on brick .
