The YMCA on Christian Street has parents and babies swim classes. The instructors are really good

The Columbia North YMCA branch is great. My daughter has experienced a lot of growth with the swim instructors.

I have met a couple parents who went to the Columbia North branch bc classes were full at Christian Street and they liked Columbia North so much that it became their first choice (in part bc it is less crowded and parking nearby is easy).

I took adult swim lessons there and it’s a great facility. The kids’ class was before my class so I would see the instructors teach the kids and they were terrific.

What are adult classes like? I’m an adult and not able to swim. Embarrassed about it 😩

Don’t be embarrassed, you are not alone! They offer 3 levels of adult classes. Beginners range from people who can swim a little to no knowledge at all. Classes are small. They will teach you everything at whatever pace you need. I already knew how to swim a little, but after classes there I am much more confident in the water.

We’ve been taking our now toddler there for a while and have had great experiences there, even during the height of Covid.

They won’t do private for kids under 3, but if you’re comfortable with a group setting their baby bubbles class is excellent.

Aqua Tots in Horsham, but that’s a bit of a drive depending on where you are in the city. They’re pro submersion which is different than Goldfish and Kids First Swim Schools.
