Wow, what a coincidence. Now I'm wondering how common it might have been back then for people to have owned a tan couch. Boggles the mind.

Very cute. Reminds me of Bubbles, Michael Jackson's chimpanzee.

The one with the blue shirt and sailor hat... wait, I'm thinking of Gilligan's Island again.

I raise you a chimp in lederhosen at a children's party in a Dutch cafe in Amsterdam in the 70's

Five of those children have no faces today.

I was there that day in the cafe and my face is still attached :-)
This is a still from a home movie my mother made and I can't remember this day tbh. I must have been 4. First time me and my brother re-watched with our respective girlfriends, just to show them our life when we were young. You can imagine the shock we all had when the chimpansee is brought in and let loose in the cafe. He even get to sit on the bar and drink something. Gods, I hope that was water but then again, that period in time and my social surroundings, I would not be surprised they gave the chimp vodka and a cigar. It was wild and ... special :-)

Your family had a chimp? What’s Skipper’s story?

My grandparents had the SAME couch and a similar monkey
