A man that cuts his own wood gets warmed by it 3 times instead of 1. First felling the tree, again cutting and splitting, and again when burning it.

I'm not felling myself, but I get what you mean. We are felling trees in our yard with a chainsaw, but not for firewood, just for more space and more staggered over the year.

Save that wood for Firewood, too, if you have an out of the rain place to store it until it dries.

They're not thick trunks, we're going to cut them into 8 foot lengths for a homemade goat shed

Another good use for them. Still, I'd save the scraps that are at least few inches in diameter.
