Has no interest in Jurassic Quest or Monster Jam :(. Doesn’t want to see a movie. The museums all close early and the science center has a 21+. Night. Are there any indoor play places? Decent arcades? We’ve done Urban Air and Dave & Buster’s so looking for something new and exciting.

TIA!

Okay, this is going to sound dumb, but I was at a sleepover when I was 7 or 8 and this memory has stuck with me 40 years later as the best time EVER. Go to the dollar store and buy like, a case of shaving cream. Or as many cans as they have. Get the color-tinted ones. Go bonkers. Allow the 6-year-old to empty them all over your kitchen floor (assuming it's linoleum or tile). They can make sculptures, mountains, shaving cream drawings...whatever. then when you guys wipe it all away, you'll have a nice clean kitchen floor!

I was going to say this, but Southside sucks on a Friday night when you have kids

Southside sucks on Friday nights for me, an adult lmao. But it's an option they can look into & they have good milkshakes. Wasn't sure what time they'd be going. 6 vs 8 would make a big difference

I have taken my son a few times, probably on a Friday or Saturday. It was amazing to see the transition from the time I entered (like 5 or 6 pm) to when we left around 9 or 10. I immediately saw my former asshole self in every jack ass we encountered walking back to where we parked.

On a lighter note, an excellent alternative is Pinnball Perfection in Westview.

Not far from d and b is an ultimate air in homestead. If you're looking to drive to Greensburg, there an indoor play center called seabase that my boys love (bonus for stopping at sonic for lunch and kerbers dairy for icecream).

If you dont mind venturing to suburbs, Planet Bounce in Tanger Outlets (Washington) is open til 7 pm. Fun Fore All in Cranberry is a nice place if they like arcades, and they have other outdoor activities as well though I'm not sure if they're open when it's cold.

South Hills Village has a store where you can make your own slime, Build a Bear, a big candy store, and a movie theater in the parking lot if there are any kid movies out right now.

Primal Pigment looks fun but kinda pricy.

Carpet slide park in Ross Township is fun for 6 year old. Hell, it's fun for me in my 40s.

Play a card game, cook together your favorite meal, bake cookies, play hide and seek, go on a long walk, take a bus ride or ride the incline. Being together is the best gift of all. Crowded indoor play centers are not the only ways to have fun. Old school art projects and making your own dance club are always great. I would try to avoid money on messy wasteful activities that will take tons of clean up- most kids hate housework.

Pins at South Side Works or Victory Pointe down by 12th and Carson. Plus there's a bunch of dessert places on the South Side, Milkshake Factory, Insomnia Cookies, or Churn.
