Hoagie is actually a common word throughout a good chunk of Pennsylvania and not just Pittsburgh.

It's a hoagie, but with a soft "g" like in "gentle" or "gif"

It's one of the few regional words really that Pittsburgh and Philly have in common that I can think of.
