Obviously I’m not from here. Visiting a friend who doesn’t know or like sports. Is William Penn a good option? I’m staying in the strip district but I have a car so I really don’t care unless it’s more than 15-20 mins away.

I know the Penguins play tonight and no one here cares about the NBA, but the NBA game is on TNT so I’m trying to think of a low key spot that has enough TVs that they wouldn’t mind flipping one to the NBA game.

Seeking a cozy vibe with good food and relatively cheap beer.

Penguins play tonight so that'll be on most of the TV's at sports bars. Depending on the number of TV's most would probably be willing to work with you and switch one.

Your best bet is either City Works or the Casino.

I know haha I’m not from Pittsburgh so I don’t care at all about the penguins. Trying to find a spot that won’t be loud as fuck with penguins fans going nuts

It's a Tuesday night regular season game against a non divisional opponent. You might hear some claps during a goal, but you won't see fans going nuts.

You'll find out if you haven't already that by and large Pgh'ers don't care about the NBA so the feeling is mutual.

Pens game will be bars bread and butter but if there's enough TV's and they want a good tip from you, they'll switch one over for you.

Go to the casino or get NBA league pass. Nobody is putting that game on TV at a random bar unless you’re the only patron there

I’m not sure if they’ll have that game on, as Pittsburgh in general doesn’t have a large basketball fan base, but they do have the best wings in the city so you’ll be happy regardless.

City Works may be the best option

I've long thought/wished Pittsburgh should have a MBA bar.

Cork Harbor House in Lawrenceville has a few TVs and is generally willing to change the channel. Cinderlands Warehouse in the Strip also usually shows basketball games, even with the Penguins playing.

League Pass is only like $15 for the rest of the season. I would just snag that. I've also had luck at the bars of suburban Mexican restaurants asking them to put on games, bc nobody goes to those to watch hockey.

League pass blacks out cable games, including this one and the entire playoffs.

I agree with the Casino posts.

Went to William Penn for the FAU game and it was cramped without much seating. Settled on on No Name Pub in Upper Lawrenceville and liked it a lot. Heat or Raptors fan? Co owner is from South Florida so will be at home :)

Could try Cupkas 2 in the Southside. They show a lot of different sports games. My wife likes to watch the eagles games there during the season.
