I know of someone who's in jail for doing this, wouldn't be so sure they'll get off easy

With these creeps it's really hit or miss. So often they get off with either a slap on the wrist or nothing at all.

Cops, women and sex offenders are notorious for getting light sentences. The only time the system is at max brutality is against men of color and fathers.

Compared to the rest of the world and the rest of history, we incarcerate all demographics heavily. Definitely minorities and men are treated worse than others. I wouldn't classify any of our sentencing as notoriously light though.

It's a non violent crime and we can't have too many prisoners. They're expensive.
