Humane Animal Rescue allows you to drop off donations. Walk in during business hours and drop off at the cart in the front.

What about Animal Friends?

Yes please donate to Animal Friends! They have a pet food pantry that is run entirely on in-kind donations and distribute thru food pantries across the city. They are short staffed and may take a few days to get back to you but you can call or email their pet retention team and someone will get back to you.

Animal Friends has a couple of large bins in their outer lobby for unopened food and supply donations

Animal Friends will happily take it.

If this is unopened, I would suggest contacting Biggies Bullies as they are always looking for food donation for their rescues. If you cant get ahold of them I would start contacting the other rescues around the city. I know most will only accept unopened but good luck

Oh, they are amazing. My sweet potato Sadie came from the Virgin Islands through them back in 2018, I can't recommend Pet Search highly enough! They were so wonderful, helpful, and loving towards pups.

Shelters in general are really overwhelmed with messages/calls right now. I’d check shelter websites (they usually say what donations they accept) and then just physically go and drop it off.

I usually donate stuff to Pet Supplies Plus. They have bins near the entrance where you can leave items for a local rescue.

You can also look at donating to humane food pantries- many people going to the pantry also have pets.

Is this a joke?

“Second Avenue Commons addresses these through a 3-P Approach centered on People, PETS, and Possessions. Pittsburgh Mercy, throughout the process, communicated their desire to create a space that is welcoming to those who generally avoid traditional shelters, including couples, PET OWNERS, those in the LGBTQIA community, and those struggling with mental health or drug/alcohol addictions.”

You’re embarrassingly ignorant.
