It's really nice inside, but it was a combination of bad timing and not great location. Malls were already on the decline when it opened, and it's a bit out of the way for most people. Those closer to the city want to avoid 28 and might as well hit up Ross Park mall. New Kensington and tarentum are closer, but aren't the wealthiest communities and evidently didn't want to go to the mall enough.

It was a really great mall for a few years after it opened. I might be slightly biased as I was in 5th/6th grade then and it was the first time I was old enough + we had enough money for my mom to give me $20 and let me wander while she took her time shopping or whatever. Would always get a pretzel and some random stuff at Claire's or a Webkinz. Then go look at the hermit crabs at that one hippie store. Movie theatre was great too.

And glow golf! It wasn’t the best course, but it was indoors and something to do in the winter.

It really was great, i loved it, but i didn't live in the city full time then. But I guess not enough people would actually go.
