Hi! I moved to prov earlier this year from NYC and have had a terrible time trying to find a nail tech. I will list what I’m looking for below if that helps, suggestions are greatly appreciated.

Second metro nails! I don't have a "go to" nail tech there because I'm awful at scheduling ahead. But every lady there has done a great job.
Aurora has good reviews (and a very pretty location) but their customer service has always been awful anytime I try to call and make an appointment- there have been times I call 3x in a row with no answer. The gentleman that answers the phone and schedules appts at Metro ALWAYS answers and is so kind.
Happy I found Metro. :)

Interesting…I’ve been going for over a year and have only had one half bad experience (it involved nail art). But other than that I usually just do gel and haven’t had any issues. I used to go to Venus nails on Mineral Spring but I found that the gel didn’t last very long

I don’t get my nails done a lot but I do like Hera Nails in Warwick. It’s clean and they include a back rub lol plus Trader Joe’s is next door.

Maintaining strong and healthy nails...yet you get gel?? Oh my.
I know 😭 it’s a bit of a necessary evil rn. I used to just wear my natural nails with a clear coat or the occasional regular polish but then the constant hand washing of the pandemic dried me out so bad I had to keep them short because they flake and break and are so thin now. The gel at least keeps them covered enough for long enough that I can just go about my life but alas
Oh honey that sounds brutal and I'm sorry. Not to sound like one of those people but have you tried collagen? It's truly made a world of difference for my aging skin and nails..highly worth a chance. The powder is unflavored too so it goes right into the morn coffee with zero notice!
It’s probably not the collagen making a difference, unless it’s vegan collagen which is pre-collagenous peptides collagen molecules that you ingest in their whole form are too large for your body to use in the way that it uses the collagen it makes, cuticle oil helps mitigate and when I eat really high fiber and protein it helps but it’s really just dehydration from all the soap. I love healthcare jobs 🙃
Healthcare Jobs are great, I agree. Honestly I'm going to look into the collagen thing, lately I've been more into learning about 5-amino-1mq, BCP157 and TB500, speaking of peptides, specifically for the muscle and tendon repairing abilities as well as the host of other things beneficial that comes from them. Seems like a good start for us all.
Side note, @jmvnails on Instagram is local and will travel to you. She does my friends nails and they come out fantastic every time.
If you feel like driving a bit, Bonsai in Lincoln RI is great! I see Nancy, who I personally believe is the best technician there. I also only get gel nails and all of her work has been awesome! Metro nails on wickenden st has always been great. I would also do a search in either Providence or the Rhode island sub bc I think this has been asked recently, though I can't be sure... Good luck
