The news has convinced a lot of people that it’s a crime-ridden hellscape when it’s really one of the safer cities of its size in the country. I live a few minutes away from the area where you’re looking and drive through there often. It’s a nice working/middle class residential neighborhood. You’ll get some foot traffic from high school kids after school ends and occasional faint noise from LaSalle football games at night, but other than that, it’s a peaceful and pleasant area.
