Chengdu taste is my top recommendation. Jahunger on wickenden also has some good sichuan style dishes.

Seconded Jahunger, good fresh food. Their ding ding noodles is really good.

Chengdu taste is your best bet, but I lived in China for ten years and ate many a meal and must say that Chengdu taste was a let down. Too salty or too sweet. Balance was lacking in almost every dish I ordered. Bummer!

Damn… ever tried Chong Qing House in east providence? I wonder how it compares. The sichuan dishes I’ve had there in the past were really good.

I would recommend Chong Qing house, I’m Asian who grew up with native Chinese parents and the food there is very authentic. Not your typical Chinese takeout

Same experience for me. I'm originally from the west coast where we had amazing Chinese food places. Places full of Chinese people, and I couldn't read the menu. I will never forget that mashed eggplant. Chengdu is no where close

Jahunger is actually Uyghur, though modern day Uyghur cuisines have seen heavy influence from other Chinese styles, especially sichuan, which were brought there by the XPCC in the 40s and 50s.

That’s interesting! It’s gotta be the only Uyghur restaurant I’ve heard of.
