I’m not sure what more you want from OP. It sounds like it was an accident and he feels ashamed it happened. It also sounds like he did everything he could. I don’t really understand why everyone here seems to be putting the burden of irresponsible drivers and cyclists on OP

That edit wasnt there when I initially responded- so that’s my misinterpretation. Glad it was not a hit and run, with that context added, the pizza is a nice suggestion
