WPRI is reporting that the perps were juveniles.

"3 juveniles asked him to empty his pockets and drop his bag. The man refused and was allegedly stabbed in the side of his back."

Yeah that's fairly vague description, where they short or tall, fat or skinny, color hair, etc.

edit: The three suspects were described as short Black males who were all last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirts.
