Leave providence if you can. We rented at the lofts at Pocasset (providence/Johnston / Cranston ) line and loved it. We paid about $1650 for 2 beds in 2019. Extremely safe area

Just for reference, 2019 prices are way out of date. Website shows that is now the price of a 1 bedroom there (so still in OPs price range, but for context).

This was a 2 bed 2 bath at the time. One beds are currently under $1850
