I (24F) and my boyfriend (28M) have been together for almost 4 years with ups and downs, but no history of infidelity.

Yesterday we were sitting side by side and I was just watching him scroll through his emails, he knew this. He had an email from Tinder - something along the lines of "Gold membership available...", didn't see the rest since it was just the title of the email. It caught me a bit off guard so I asked him why he had an email from Tinder. He said he didn't know, I asked if he had Tinder, he said no why would he. I left it there. In the past he has never had a problem with me going through or using his phone, but I did not ask to do so as I was still caught off guard.

Does anyone know if Tinder randomly emails people? Could he still he getting emails from an old account that he hasn't deactivated, maybe just deleted the app? What could I ask of him to put my mind at ease?

I know Tinder stopped emailing me after my account was inactive for a while. I'm not sure if they send periodic pushy emails to reinstall it again or something, although if it were trying to advertise the availability of a new membership program it might be that.

I can't speak from personal experience with Tinder, but it is absolutely possible if not likely that they send out advertising emails. Especially if he jsut deleted the app and didn't suspend/deactivate his account.

Since it's specifically Tinder gold that's being advertised, I would guess that it's an ad meant to pull dormant users back in.

"We haven't seen you on Tinder in a while. Here's a free 2 weeks of gold to get you back in dating pool!" Etc...

I wouldn't worry about it at all if he's given you no other reason to worry.
