Lunch/Supper gets a lot of flak lately for good reason, but I was starving one morning and wandered over to give it another shot for brunch. The bar setup is weird- you have go through the patio and into the restaurant and check to see if there is room at the bar, and if not, you do a walk of shame back out. BUT the jalapeno short rib cheese grit bowl was to die for, seriously. It was savory and delicious and slightly eclipsed some of the mediocre meals I've had there over the past few years.

I feel like knowing it can be good is one of the most frustrating parts about that place. When it’s good it’s pretty solid but when it’s bad it’s so fucking bad. There’s something about either the reservation system or maybe the service where I feel like I’m being the most burdensome person on the planet when I enquire about a table

Yeah, I always feel like I am a massive inconvenience to everyone working there by trying to eat lol

Well I’m glad it’s not just me then. At first I thought it was a covid thing, but had the same experience each year since 2020. Then a couple of times I’ve been with larger groups which I know can also be a pain but even the one time I went with 3 other people it was the same type of service.

I've felt that way every time I have been there too. Pre and post Covid.

that's it exactly. Never was great, but was reliably solid. Now it's unreliable and was mediocre the last few times, so I haven't been back for quite a while

A lot of it is service related. They refused to give us a paper menu last year and my MIL has bad eyes and no smart phone, so I had to read her the whole menu from my phone. Hadn't been back since
