Honestly I just put it in with my regular trash, but I make sure not to overfill the can so it doesn't get skipped. It's probably not the "correct" method but I'm not going to lose sleep over it.

I put that stuff in the large paper yard bags from Home Depot or Lowe's and put them by the trash cans and someone takes them. I don't put a ton of them out at a time tho

In my experience you can pile larger waste like limbs out on the curb and the city will get them at some point in the next two months on a day that doesn't correlate to anything.

If they're branches and limbs too large for yard bags you can pile them beside where you leave your can on collection day and they come lift them with the truck with the claw/grabber on rhe back. I think someone else here said this happens on your recycling day, I think they might be right but I normally leave yard waste out every week at this time of year and it's taken care of.

Leaves/grass/weeds etc. I usually just bag. There are certain times of the year (fall I believe) where you can put up to like 10 bags at a time during trash days.

The city does an amazing job with branches/larger limbs at least in my experience. If you place larger limbs/branches into neat piles (no longer than say like 5 feet) at your curb, they bring a large truck with a claw grabber every recycling week and take everything. I feel like I push it too far sometimes at the amount I put out there lol but they always take it.

I just took down a massive tree in my yard and kept most of the trunk for firewood, but I had about 6 massive piles of limbs/branches covering my entire curb and they took every last bit of it

Composting is encouraged

This is the answer for the most part. They check to see if there is large bulk pickup on recycling days and will then, allegedly, pick it up by the weekend for free. When I moved out of my last apartment I just threw a ginormous pile of acceptable trash in my alley (where the cans are) and it was gone eventually.

I have an obnoxious amount yardwork that I need to be picked up, it's just chilling in my backyard until next Wednesday. You can also call and have it picked up whenever you want for a $100 or so fee.

The city picks up bulk rubbish every 2 weeks. One of the best services our tax dollars provide.

fill your bin and clear bags for what will go in them. If you have a pile of branches put it out next to the bins and they are supposed to grab them on the day of your recycling pickup but more often than not when it does not happen that day just call it in and they will circle around to pick it up Phone No. 804-646-6430

Just a heads up, a lot of wildlife use leaves to survive through Winter. Like Lightning Bugs. Helps the little ones out if ya keep the leaves where they are so they have a place to survive. Along with other benefits to a healthy ecosystem.

And Lightning Bugs need all the help they can get.

but yes, it's great. City council keeps trying to get rid of it, which should be opposed
