republicans passed laws preventing municipalities from creating their own ISPs unless over 90% of the population doesn't have access to broadband.
Problem is, satellite internet counts as broadband, despite being ass, so the law could never be triggered.
However, Northam signed a law that rolled back a lot of these regulations and allotted almost a billion dollars to build out broadband access to underserved communities. The stated goal is to have 90% of virginians with broadband access by 2024.
I haven't heard of Youngkin or any other republicans trying to stop it yet, so we may actually get something.

I do networking for a locality. A full buildout would be great for our constituents, but sounds like a nightmare.
Maybe we’re just under staffed

The problem is that some people are morons. I have a friend who previously worked as a Comcast CSR.. Literally everything that goes wrong with a laptop or personal computer is the fault of the ISP, in the mind of some customers. I have a solid background in network infrastructure-- I have to call my ISP about once every 10 years. The network buildout isn't the problem, it's dealing with customers.

I love Ashland. I’d live there in a second but it’s just as expensive as the West End these days

That, plus this is probably one of the most progressive things Ashland has done in ages.

Strange choice of color coding, but otherwise looks good:

Do you mean the choice of colors, or the order of the color sequence? I just thought it was weird how it went red to orange to green before visiting yellow...

No one wants to visit Klanover for fun. Unless you’re into white sheets and hating trans kids.
Wifi isn’t enough to draw crowds.

so shocking that the dude that runs the christian bookstore would also go out of his way to make an irrelevant comment using an extremely outdated term for transgender people

Are you aware of Ken? I'm not exactly sure he's trans. He still rocks his goatee and goes by "Ken" and is referred to as a guy in all his interviews.

I wish localities could build their own ISP in VA. Every locality I have heard of that has done it has cheap and fast internet
