Streaked shearwaters nesting on islands off Japan sometimes head straight toward passing typhoons, where they fly near the eye of the storm for hours at a time. That's a scary feeling though, paddling at a freak set coming in and it's just this massive black wall of water that looks like it's going to break right infront of you.

That said, the best thing you can do is just paddle your little heart out.
