Ok. How long it has been administered before they figured this out?

Ifosfamide was approved for use in the USA in 1987, but the epigenetic analysis tools used to generate this finding are much newer. In the press release, they don't advocate for stopping use of the drug, but rather to freeze or preserve germ cells so that they are not affected during treatment.

So, is it safe to say that there is a big possibility that many prescription drugs that are prescribed today may cause yet unknown side effects? We just still don't have means to detect them.

"Germ cell" is a term referring to sperm and egg cells

Germ cells refer to the egg and sperm cells as a whole, a great way to refer to both without saying "precursor cells to a financial parasite that will drain your bank account and destroy your mental state."
In my opinion, "germ cells" is a much nicer and simpler term than the aforementioned phrase.
