If legit...when I teach basic X-ray reading I already tell people that within 20-30 years we won't have radiologists any more because AI will just handle it. May need to revise that down (understanding as well the quote the authors open with that AI would take over by 2021).

Yeah, AI is already making big inroads into radiology. It may be 20 years off, but in the next 5 years, it'll be a tool radiologists use.

You teach your students that Radiologists only read X-rays? What about intervention (biopsies, etc)? I’m quite sure AI is a long way away from putting in a stent.

What sense does it make to have a pathway of interventional radiology if there's not diagnostic radiology?
Train up the surgeons.
