First of all this isn't what I want to happen, but I don't see how we can have it any other way. Maybe anarchy actually(but that's for a different thread). I tend to be a leftist libertarian in normal times, so my ideal world is not communism at all.
This isn't about what I want, It's about seeing the writing on the wall. Also if you think communism means dictatorship please go away, I'd like to have an adult conversation here. So lets ask ourselves some questions about a world where work is eventually eliminated.
How is it fair some people can have 100 acres, and some people live in a tent in this post scarcity world? In a world that has eliminated upward mobility completely?
Why should you have more resources when you've not done anything to earn it?
How does future commerce even happen if we have things like replicators from Star Trek?
Again, the writing is on the wall. As time goes on people will keep asking these questions. I think we'll see our first real Luddite war and it will probably be the last war we ever have. If we don't kill ourselves completely we'll have to learn to share, and in a way we aren't used to.
