I always thought death to be less binary than we usually think of it. Take two examples: 1, your cells within the span of about 7 years completely replace themselves; and 2, dementia patients don’t experience one singular moment when their brain dies. I think the idea of death doesn’t exist outside of our illusionary belief in our own individuality from the rest of the universe. We’re just a bunch of stuff that incorrectly thinks it’s one thing. Vsauce did a video on this subject called “Do Chairs Exist?”. It’s worth a watch.
