This goes back to the idea of humans wanting to feel special, rejecting the possibility that a synthetic model could at all be like a human, this precious unique being that could not possibly be matched by a machine.
It would be hilarious if we were to ever find out that we're ourselves nothing more than agents in a simulation. Philosophers and religious people all over the world would be up in arms claiming that it's an evil lie.
Needless to say I don't think we're that special, and that AGI is very much achievable within the next 50 years.
