Ok ok ok hear me out. ChatGPT is definitely far from being a proper AGI, BUT think of it like this:

The engineers who created it are likely already using it as a tool to help them figure out how to better implement new code into its software to improve it. So I think it's likely already speeding up its own development process. Sure it's probably only to a small degree for the time being, but the engineers will continue to improve it, and it will continue to improve at helping the engineers IMPROVE IT SOME MORE. Until eventually it's able to improve upon itself.
