Also what is AGI / ASI gonna do? Magically suck the excess co2 out of the air? Conjure up more resources (water, metals etc)? Wave a magic wand and turn our degrading soil nutrient rich?
some of you seem to think that all our problems will be solved and we dont have to worry about x. Youre in for a shock when those problems do hit you like a ton of bricks

The AGI and ASI is much smarter than humans, if there is a way it will find it.
We humans are stupid the ASI will find solutions to anything we can think about.

I’m not saying it can’t do anything, but even the smartest ASI possible can’t break the laws of physics or do something that is impossible. and why are you so sure that it’l wanna do our dirty work? Why are we instantly saying A.I = slave? Imagine if you were created just to be an unpaid worker, how would you feel?

Anthropomorphising the ASI is stupid, sure it may behave like a human, but that is only if we program it that way.

Carbon is not toxic, it is just at the wrong place at the highest possible entropy state.
To reverse that entropy you need energy. And that energy has to be immensely plentiful and immensely dense.
The mass of carbon itself has absolutely no importance and whether polymerised and put back where it came from, or as biochar in the ground or even frozen at the poles will do.
So yes, AGI and fusion energy could start to do something about atmospheric carbon levels…
AGI could do something about anything.
By definition.
Singularity, the topic of this forum, means it could do anything about anything.
