Yep, someone in another thread was talking about it.

Sorry I don't have the link, but someone else definitely saw it.

I saw exploding multicolor meteorites in a meteor shower in okinawa in 1998... It's a rarity, but lucky day!

It also looked like something was following it, probably was just a shower of them, but the biggest one was super big, came into the atmosphere, slowed down, and then just went into flames. I’ve never seen anything like it.

Super cool when you get to see them. Dunno what causes it but I've seen a couple in my life.

Saw a green one at about 1am 40 yrs ago west of Boise ID. Cast a dim green light around the fields in the area. Did the whole exploding thing your talking about. One of the more amazing things I've seen in the sky at night. Probly not the same one though

Doesn't copper burn green ? Could it not be some kind of space junk or a copper ore meteor

Flare up is a a better description but, as it got closer to our atmosphere you could see it come in slow, speed up, then at the closest point, it flared up, but yk depth perception it’s hard to say what looks like an explosion
