Japan's come a long way
Their vehicles are incredible, especially considering the postwar restrictions that they were forced into way back when

Launching satillites on rockets without active guidance systems is straight up amazing. [link](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lambda_(rocket_family)#:~:text=Lambda%20series%20rockets%20did%20not,allowed%20to%20have%20guidance%20systems.)

Tbh, that's true for anyone beside the US. Whenever Nasa or SpaceX does anything, you'd think we found a cure for cancer.
Meanwhile, India, the EU, Japan and China just get on with it without much fuss. Hell, even those 4 get some press, I probably forgot a bunch more. I think Zimbabwe recently launch a satellite ? (Well, on a foreigner rocket)

There is plenty of fuss when China launches something as the world is concerned where the debris will land.

Lol maybe for people who dont follow space news. Its why they wouldnt know the USSR landed on Venus, China has a new space station, and India just launched their first privately built rocket.
But then again, we cant really expect people to know everything about everything ongoing in the world.

I guess that’s why I like some of my favourite YouTubers who cover some of the smaller launch providers like Tim Dodd and Marcus House.

Rwanda is another country that I feel like nobody pays attention too. We will wake up one day and they will have a full on space program.

There's a joke here about Japanese punctuality and American lateness.

That astronaut is currently in grammar school. T-MINUS 20 Years and counting. Lets go to Mars.

THANK YOU.
The moon is fucking boring. Plenty of ride or die folks out there willing to take a shot at mars. Let’s give them a chance.
N1cknamed t1_ix10l2f wrote
Going to mars unprepared is suicidal and idiotic. We need to learn how to survive away from earth for prolonged periods of time. The moon is the perfect training ground.
designer_of_drugs t1_ix1dv4c wrote
Extreme risk aversion does not serve explorers well. Guess what? It’s gonna be a dicey proposition no matter when we start sending people to Mars. We will 100% lose missions. Gotta bite the bullet and start trying.

Well we need to build a transit stop to help us go the distance that far. Gas stations are pretty boring but we’re not going the distance without them.

Thanks for the "Moon" (the movie) vibes, Japan!

The headline should continue with: "So far no task found for them there that couldn't be done on the ISS or with a moon orbiting Spaceship"

I feel like Japan is always the quiet achiever in space. It’s always “Japan launched X, Japan provided Y” without any particular fanfare. They do a great job.
