He seems to deserve it. I honestly haven’t watched ESPN really more than a few times since 2012 when they had Stephan A and Skip on first take. The good ol days! Pedro Gomez was always a real good reporter whenever he popped up on the screen. Respect to the man

I legit read "Late" and stupidly assumed it meant how he was a reporter for ESPN long ago because they laid off so many people years ago or the good ones left. Completely forgot he passed away

Wait, WHAT? I feel like whenever one of their own dies ESPN does huge tributes. Pedro Gomez was one of their best people and I don't recall them even mentioning his passing...

Loved Pedro Gomez. In a medium that has become more talking heads than sports analysts, Pedro was always a high integrity guy.

I had the chance to listen to Pedro talk about his experiences in the business during one of my sports media lectures in college. Great guy, well deserved award and Rest In Peace

I did not see Peter Gammons outliving Pedro Gomez.

I am not sure if they did any huge tributes, but they definitely mentioned his passing. I almost never watch ESPN (other than live sports), but I was aware that he had passed.

Heartbroken when he passed. He was a staple of my childhood watching ESPN

haha to be fair, I only watch ESPN when I have time to kill in the morning, so maybe he just died on a day I wasn't watching. Still, I was either unaware, or I completely forgot.

I remember the love he had for his son, wish he were alive to acknowledge the award, but his family should be proud of his achievements. Loved watching him on ESPN.

Worked with him a few times, and he was one of the nicest reporters to work with.

I had absolutely zero clue the PG had passed. Sad to hear but good for him to be honored this way.

Hold up. How did I not know he passed?? This guy was and is one of the best sports reporters. And as someone born, raised, and still living in AZ, I’m even more shocked I had no idea. Congratulations and RIP Pedro.
