They have very different resources for training than athletes from other countries could get.

They’re still a far better team than Qatar, and far better than even some of the European and South American teams (with Mane). It would have been an embarrassment if they didn’t beat Qatar

There are plenty of less impressive feats that are hailed as monumental achievements. This one just happens to mean a lot to a whole continent of people.

No, it’s really patronising to make a big deal out of the African Champions comfortably beating a team they should comfortably beat. This is just business as usual, and is meaningless to anyone outside of Senegal.
If they got to the semi finals or something then it would be an achievement, but this is just meeting their lowest expectations. Stop being disrespectful
