Because Apple wanted to add it it Apple+ without increasing the price.

So what?! If Apple wants to eat the costs, let them! I do not see the issue and it feels incredibly greedy by the NFL

They want you to see football as a premium product like a high end cable channel. Not as a filler set of free content with another sub. Amazon will absolutely not offer it free to Prime members and it’ll be a separate channel offer for sure.

I think the NFL is being short sighted here. I cut the cord and thought I’d miss football. Now, I’m glad it’s out of my Sunday life and realized I only watched it because others were. The games are really long and bloated with commercials and unnecessary breaks.

The NFLs YouTube channel is the best way to watch games. You can watch all the meaningful plays of a game in 10-20 minutes. They also put up a lot of highlight clips. And everything is usually up with an hour or less of the game ending.

I watch my teams games live when I can. Most other games I’ll watch the YouTube version.

3.5 hours of game isn’t fun anymore. I’m the guy who tunes in at halftime if the game is close. Then if you get the Vikings/Colts it’s still like 2 hours lol

I’m the same. Once you stop watching it seems so boring. I used to be a massive football nerd too

Strange this is a sticking point, considering DirecTV used to give it away as part of their packages all the time.

I still watch football OTA. I don’t miss not watching it on Thursdays since I don’t have a prime account and never missed it on mondays cause I don’t have cable. I’ve watched football for over forty years. IMO it is not a premium product and if the NFL markets it as such then whatever. I’m usually reading books during the games anyway. If the nfl goes away I’ll be fine.

You can watch Thursday night football on Twitch for free. Twitch is owned by Amazon and they just show it live.

I’m aware of this. I don’t have a twitch account nor do I want one. I avoid Amazon where I’m able to do so.
