I believe you are correct. I've always enjoyed Hippos, but I'm just disappointed in their lack of consideration, especially since other shops in town are proceeding this way with 2 customer lines. One method seems 'compassionate' vs the other way which seems like 'a cash grab' to me.

Let's be real for a second.

Businesses are a cash grab. Thays all they are. That is WHY they exist. That isn't to say there aren't benevolent owners with good intentions in the world; but the PURPOSE of a business, any business, is to maximize profit.

The med card thing is joke. I thought I got scammed. It was a single zoom call, I paid with a card by phone and then they connected me. LITERALLY from the time we I teoduced ourselves to the time the phone call was over, 58 seconds. Not an exaggeration.
He asked what ailments I had, I had a paper I had typed out for reference, I said I get headaches, he cut me off "medicinal marijuana has been shown to treat headaches, I think we can sign off on this"
Of the 12 people I know with med cards, probably 2...MAYBE 3.... use it for legitimate reasons; everyone else viewed it as a weed tax.
I haven't seen it in person, because I haven't been since it went rec, but I've heard they sell med at bit of discount than rec...same product, different pricing.
If thats true, from a business perspective, doesn't make sense to give up extra revenue while also potentially alienating (what is expected to be) the bulk of your customer base.

Medical gets a lower tax that is the only discount

Terrabis gives 10% off to med card users I believe.

Yeah I was at Flora Farms on Saturday and they were giving a similar discount for med customers.

They also get a better rewards system. I get a free OZ pretty often.

I imagine many “rec” users are also from states that have yet to legalize even medical use and want options other than a steady stream of pharma opiates for their chronic pain. I get that the situation is frustrating for OP but it also comes off a bit privileged, like those people don’t deserve the opportunity for relief as well.

I know when they rolled out rec in illinois they made it so medical patients were served first, so it is possible and honestly i think the right thing to do. Missouri clearly didnt care.

To be clear the state of Missouri didn't want rec THC at all; thats why no bill ever left committee and why the petition initiative was used, to circumvent the state of missouri.
If you're saying it was shitty of the voters to approve the bill without that consideration, I'd say we're lucky it passed at all; the first red state to legalize rec use nationwide.
And let's be honest, 90%+ of med users were just using the med card as a license for rec.

I still am down to let med users get easier and faster access, but you are 100% right on the first point tbh. This is what happens when we dont have a govt that can come together and make a law and weigh input etc. Shouldnt have had to be a ballot initiative. .

You obviously have no idea how business works. They had 2 hours notice that they could sell recreational. I went in on the second day to hippos was in line for 15 minutes they had plenty of options and the budtenders were incredibly helpful as the inventory didn't match what the floor had. They did a wonderful job getting people in and out with the amount of people they had. In gen/ sales for dispos most of them saw a 200-300% increase in customers. If you are having that many issues waiting in line like everyone else I suggest taking advantage of online ordering so you don't have to wait and can almost guarantee you are getting what you want from their stock. My anxiety sounds like it's just as bad as yours, I just medicate differently as I couldn't afford a med license when they came out so consider yourself lucky that you have had access to medication for this long. Be happy that your fellow man can also medicate as they see fit now.
