I have a group of about 8 people and we are wondering if the VIP access is worth it. This is our first year going.

That’s a major bummer, we may still go just to try it out. Thanks for the heads up!
Wingapalooza is trash
Don’t waste your time or money.
Wingapalooza is fine. It is very busy with lots of lines, but the money goes to a good cause, and it's an experience that isn't the worst. I went a couple years before COVID, and had probably 20-25 wings.
That's all of the food and beer festivals we have in this town. Pay too much to get in, pay too much for tickets to get food and beer, and spend the whole day standing in lines.
I've been once and had a good time. They had a good music line up, too. If you're looking for an endless bowl of wings, just go to a restaurant.
I refuse to go anymore. I got dragged to the food truck thing just a month or so ago and I vowed to never go to another one!
Last time I went, VIP was like a little cattle enclosure with a couple tables, bathrooms apart from general admission, and its own alcohol vendor. It was directly right of the stage so not the best sound from there. The only benefit I can imagine is less time waiting for alcohol.
I forgot about the music, yeah it was a good time.

I would just skip it. Long lines, super crowded. You’ll spend most of the day standing in one line after another.
