My parents will be visiting for a few days over the Christmas weekend. They've visited town once before, and we went to a couple museums and restaurants in town. I'm looking for some recommendations on Chrstmas-y things to do, that aren't too expensive (for example Silver Dollar City is too expensive). We'd be up for going to Branson if there are some cheaper events or things to do. I'm still pretty new to the Springfield area, and tend to be a home body, so I'm too familiar with what this area has to offer. Thanks in advance!

Gardens Aglow at Nathaniel Greene Park in the Japanese Gardens. It's beautiful! Buy tickets online $5. It's walk thru.

Bass Pro shop is decorated for the holidays and they may enjoy that. Ozark has a drive thru light display at the park by the river. It's donations only.
I've not been but understand The Landing in Branson is decorated and people enjoy strolling there. Hopefully others will have suggestions for you

As someone else mentioned; the gardens aglow is great.

I believe they have a big drive through lights display at Shephard of the hills in Branson

Depending on when they'll be here, farmers park farmers market usually does a Christmas-y market, not sure what day it is this year though

There's always Christmas eve Chinese food. Very important tradition

Bass pro shops usually is a good spot to go. Not saying the aquarium because that is not cheap but the store itself is like a big outdoor museum. They also have a gun museum in their and a boat section. Also has some turtles and fish and some alligators on display. Lots of stuffed animals. Sequoia Park is also a nice park. Has a trail and a big lake that birds tend to go to. Also has a playground for kids. Also Google neighborhoods that do Christmas light shows. Those are pretty cheap and always a nostalgic classic.
