They got their record profits, now time to fire the little guys and buy more luxuries. Wash rinse repeat with these companies that pay no federal taxes.

Damn there a lot of articles like this.
Is someone shorting Google or something?

I wouldn't doubt it. These billionaire investors and hedge fund managers will try to get companies to fire tens of thousands of employees just so their stock will go up a quarter of a point.

tech sure is becoming a cesspool of greed. bunch of c-suite executives unwilling to adjust their salaries during a recession.

I feel there was a big push to snatch up talent as the pandemic was wrapping up. There were so many jobs a year ago. I procrastinated and procrastinated on getting my resume redone and learning a JS framework that now that I finally have the competition for remote position has spiked.
I’ve applied to a few but it’s a lost cause, I feel. I can’t compete with all these people who have Twitter and Google and Facebook on their profile.

Lol layoffs make company stock rise so that's a really bad plan if that's what the article writer is hoping for

why would someone short a stock that's going up?

Hmm I wonder what kind of economic downturn is coming that all these companies are laying off so many employees. What has caused this downturn? Only a few years ago the country as a whole had such a positive outlook. Maybe that dark winter I heard about is finally coming?

We all knew this was going to happen when Facebook started laying people off and the hedge funds rewarded them on the market. Now all the bulls are itching to run amok since inflation has been “canceled” and companies are desperate to send the signal that they are worthy investments again.
Fuck these executives, it’s just a country club of control playing a game of roulette where they get rich when they win and we get fucked when they lose. But it’s all good because after they have destroyed enterprise after enterprise chasing unrealistic returns (because that’s how they got their power by lying and over promising) they might donate some of their spoils back to a starving African nation or something.

The whole concept of analysts telling executives what to do is asinine.
