Why does Netflicks have profiles then? If I pay for streaming to 3 screens at once why does it matter where those viewers are at. Encouraging users to to use a feature and then calling it a crime..

It’s for use within your house on up to 3 screens as clearly stated in the terms of service.

Is Netflix paying you for this or are you just like this all on your own?

Gee, an actual answer to the question, how dare they!? Filthy Netflix shill must have a tongue up Netflix’ butt! Get the pitchforks!
As horseshit as Netflix’ terms of service are, the answer’s not wrong. Do we really have to downvote everything we don’t like? There’s barely any discussion on Reddit anymore, because everyone’s jerking each other off with extremely one-sided takes and downvoting everything they personally disagree with.
I’ve shared my Netflix account for years and I cancelled my subscription because of Netflix’ recent bullshit, but even I can see where they’re coming from and pretending I don’t just to jerk everyone off for karma is pointless.
When I started sharing my account, I lived with my siblings and parents – we shared the account within the household. Nowadays we all live thousands of miles apart and have children of our own, yet we all share the same Netflix account.
Again, I hate the change. I cancelled my subscription. I’m pissed that me cancelling probably results in at least two of my siblings subscribing for their kids.
Still, I must be paid by Netflix because I can understand that multiple households with children all using the same account because the parents lived together a decade ago is stretching the account sharing rules.

ah yes, the predatory TOA that has so many pages, if people spent the actual time to read the myriad of TOAs they nee to agree to in their lifetime it would take actual years of their lives to get through them all.

It’s the ip Address and not the users.

And where does Netflix differentiate between the two on their website? All I see is I pay for 4 screens. Like akaBugWurm said, if I pay for 4 screens, what’s it matter where those screens are?

Personally I think we should be able to use it wherever we are but unfortunately we all agreed to a terms of service agreement when signing up.

I'll reiterate what the dude above you said, where does Netflix differentiate users and IP in the ToS?
Also, can you watch Netflix on your phone on the bus? Different IP. That would not be allowed if what you're saying is true
imJGott t1_j1cggn2 wrote
They’ll be able to tell by the IP history of the account. All phones have a serial number/mac address/something to identify it from others.

Legit, what about people that travel for work like me while my wife and her boyfriend Netflix and chill?

Let's hope that their plan isn't to go by IP addresses alone, given how completely inaccurate that is.
People on 5g home networks are going to be getting these warnings constantly, maybe every single day as their IP's change and routing bounces around.
I'm one of those people and within the same say mine fluctuates multiple times between 3-4 cities that I live more like 800 miles from. (I'm on tmobile 5g)

Man I can't wait to get a lawsuit from Netflix because I try to stream a video from my work wi-fi, or my phone, or my home wi-fi, you know depending on which one I said is home initially.
