I don't care what else they do if they don't bother adding support for long file path lengths to Windows Explorer.

There’s an easy registry fix for this

Yes there is a registry setting, but Windows Explorer does not respect it.

yes! its unbelievable that I often have to do things on my android phone that are almost impossible on windows, like copying large amounts of files to and from a network, in windows I always get the dreaded errors due to long file names or not accepted characters, Android has no issues.

No. I know what files I want to see. I don't need 'suggestions', or larger thumbnails pushed into my face, and they won't be documents I'm done with that were previously always suggested until I disabled that function.

Just take the new features, and make them optional. Then you have a perfect file browser for everyone.

I understand that then you wouldn't get OneDrive smashed into your eyeballs every time you wanted to look at your tax returns or whatever, but please just this once make a choice that's user friendly?

Does it let you customize the toolbar like office? Seems Microsoft is going for minimalist when I want to use it as an everyday tool.
Also, can it please remember my search layout? Not revert to icon view every time?

Still lacking tabs.

Edit: As was pointed out, I was wrong, Windows 11 Explorer does have tabs as of 3 months ago. After 15 years of waiting for Microsoft to implement this I thought they had delayed it again.

Have you used windows explorer recently because mine have tabs since 3-4 months

No I haven't. That piece did not mention it. I knew they were putting out an update but I didn't know when. So Windows 11 Explorer has tabs standard. Good to know.

Most of these new features are things macOS Finder has had for a decade at this point (tabs, file previews, tagging w/ colors).

They need to improve unpacking files.
