The problem with the show is that it is at times aggressively mean without being funny which makes it painful to watch at times. I don't think Mindy is a particularly good voice actress either.

Its a pretty bad show.

I saw a YouTube review that covers this well.

If you have a character that is a rude jerk, you need a moment of growth where they learn and realize the error of their ways and, if they don’t change, they at least show a moment of empathy to their mocked victims… Velma’s character has no growth. She starts out a rude jerk and continues being a rude jerk throughout.

Or if it's like Seinfeld or Always Sunny, show these people getting their comeuppance.

She has plenty of growth, that’s what the entire last 2 episodes are about. A lot of the characters have growth but Velma stops having hallucinations, finds out she’s bi sexual and has always had love for norville and stops treating him like shit.

She treats Fred like shit, then there’s an episode that shows how fucked Fred’s family is, and instead of being compassionate towards Fred after learning this new info, she still treats him like shit after.

Notice how I specifically mentioned how she treats her victims when I spoke of growth. She wasn’t really that mean to Shaggy, Fred was her main victim throughout the show since the opening few seconds. Her punching bag.

She literally apologized to him after he frees her from the board she’s trapped on in the final episode. And shaggy isn’t in the series, not sure why you think she needs to apologize to him.

You knew exactly what they meant and you still decided to respond like a sarcastic ass.

Actually no, shaggy and norville are 2 completely different characters. If anything shaggy is his dad as he has the same hair style minus the beard. He’s also a good cook and smokes weed. There’s also a flashback were he meets norvilles grandmother and there’s a shot that look’s literally ripped out of the old scooby doo shows. He was also tested for the s.c.o.o.b.y project which ties into the scooby doo and shaggy link.

Shaggy is a stoner slacker wimp who has a dog. Norville is a nerdy good doer who likes to play with swords and has way more courage. He literally repels done and deflects a bullet with a sword.

Maybe if you watched the show you wouldn’t be the ass in this situation.

No, Shaggy is a guy that solves mysteries with his friend Fred, Velma, and Daphne in a van that Fred owns.

Characters aren't just what they physically look like.

Yeah, that's also known as a "reference".

Also, why do we keep going back to this stoner thing? You realise that this is based on a children's cartoon right? Shaggy never actually smoked weed. It's not a character trait.

>Maybe if you watched the show you wouldn’t be the ass in this situation.

The fact that this characters personality is purposefully the opposite of what people associate with Shaggy (e.g., the stoner subculture) as a joke actually makes the opposite point of what you're trying to make.

It's always sunny in Philadelphia is wildly popular, despite having a cast of utterly horrible people that never even come close to redeeming themselves

Redemption or growth are good, but they are not required to enjoy a show
