It's been done on plenty of shows where I've tolerated it, Breaking Bad included, but as a rule I get immediately put off by the 'open on a crazy scene then cut to [three] [days] earlier' format. Feels so obnoxious.

The worst is when that "crazy scene" is misleading and isn't even that crazy in context.

I always feel like they do it because the episode ended up seeming too boring otherwise.
